Caitlin Elledge grew up in southern Mississippi and was trained in the Vaganova method of classical ballet. She moved to Nashville when she was 16 to join Nashville Ballet’s Professional Training Division and then moved on to their second company, Nashville Ballet 2, when she was 18. After leaving Nashville Ballet, Caitlin began freelancing and guest performed roles such as Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty and the Sugarplum Fairy in the Nutcracker, as well as original contemporary and neoclassical works set by her close friends Meagan Irby (former dancer of Lines Ballet and Nashville Ballet) and Claire Weinstein, (artistic director of Vanderbilt University’s VUPointe Ballet Company).
Caitlin got the opportunity to collaborate with Vanderbilt University’s VUPointe Ballet Company. During that time, she choreographed two contemporary pieces and one neoclassical piece, as well as performed a neoclassical piece. She hopes to choreograph more in the future and is excited to see how she’ll grow artistically in Blue Moves.
