It was at Middle Tennessee State University that Kevana discovered her passion for creative movement; she enrolled in a ballet class on a whim and within a week she was dancing with the modern company on campus. During her time at MTSU, she would go on to dance with Dance Theatre, MPAC, and Husted Dance, while pursuing an integrative study of psychology and dance. Though Kevana had the opportunity to work with a variety of educators and choreographers the highlight of her college experience was the research she conducted on the relationships between dance, stress, and empathetic concern. Since graduating in 2015, Kevana has worked as a teaching artist with various agencies, but has moved primarily into freelancing as she prepares to continue her study of dance therapy.
